Our 2009 race will need 90 volunteers to make this another successful event.
Help is needed before, during and after the race. We are sure to find a fun job for you.
All volunteers receive a short sleeve tee-shirt.

PRE-RACE ACTIVITIES
Race Packet Stuffing Stuff packets with items for runners.
Building medals - Adding the ribbons on the finishers medals that are given to the runners and installing place decals.
Hand out Race Packets, Race Numbers, T-Shirts
Parking lot Direct parking
Shuttle Bus Help direct runners to buses
RACE DAY ACTIVITIES
Registration Help with race day registration. Hand out numbers/race bags/ tee shirts
Timing chips hand out timing chips at registration
Course manager Open all gates and secure, place mile markers. Close gates and pick up mile markers after race.
Water Stations Hand out water, PowerAde, fruit or Energy Gel to runners as they pass the station.
Medical Support Registered nurses and doctors to assist along course
Turn Monitors Direct runners at points in the course where the course turns on the streets. Need to be assertive in directing to make sure runners know where to go. Turn monitors near finish will help set out traffic cones along course and help remove at end of race.
Road Closings Coordinate fire police and police for road closings
Bicycle Race Escorts Bicyclists to lead race and follow along among racers. Must be able to maintain fastest race pace.
Sag Wagon Work with race escorts to be available to meet and pickup any racers unable to complete course. Need vehicle with maximum seating.
Floaters These volunteers make themselves available on race morning to work on the course where needed at the last minute.
Sweat Check This station is an area where runners can check their bag of clothes that they will change into after the race.
Set up and break down This is a physically demanding position. Volunteers will set up all necessary equipment for the start and finish line areas. Some examples of equipment are large timing boards, timing pads, fencing, sponsor signs, sound systems and more.
Start and Finish Portable Toilets Arrange for delivery, set up location and removal of portable toilets
Crowd Control - Be familiar with the finish line area and surrounding activities for directing runners to these activities such as the food and drink stations, toilet facilities, and medical personnel.
Timing Chips Remove timing chips from the runners shoes.
Photographers take high quality digital photos of race
Food and Drink Stations - Distribute food and drink to the runners who have finished the race.
Timing Assistants call out times at mile markers along course.
Food/Drink Obtain food and finish line drinks. Set up food tables and trashcans.
Awards Ceremony Layout medals by age groups coordinate awards presentation.
Shuttle Bus Control buses get runners onto bus and call in next bus.
Announcements make announcements at finish line area
